Summer means Beach time or ever heading down to a lake. Nothing beats sitting back and relaxing while enjoying the sun and hopefully a warm breeze. I love having a good book on hand to read, even if I don't get the chance due to children, while relaxing in a beach chair or sunbathing on a towel.
As luck would have it this weeks Top Ten is all about books I would recommend for down by the Beach. I like my beach reads to be something I can read fast and it's easy to follow. Or one that is fun with some fluff. I typically don't like something so intense that I can't put it down to enjoy the view. Although, the books do have to be compelling enough to want to continue reading. These types of books for me can range from 5 to 3 star ratings. Hopefully you can find one that sound good to you.
Top Ten Beach Books I would Recommend
1. Great Read Anytime
If you have not read this book then really you just need to read it. Trust me it is awesome and it won't matter if you read it at the Beach or in a reading chair at home. Those of you that have read this book would probably love to re-read it at the Beach or on a Lake.
2. All in the Family
This book is great for kids of all ages or a book you want to read with your children. It has Greek Mythology tied in and plenty of water to add to the Beach atmosphere. This is also great for adults too.
3. Young Adult - Mystery/Supernatural
Great young adult book. I think it is also great for adults as well. It is about a girl named Camelia who meets Ben, this mysterious guy from school. There is a pull between them that they can't seem to deny. Strange things start happening to her around the time Ben shows up. The question on her mind is: is Ben responsible or is there someone else messing with her? Great little love story with a mysterious/supernatural twist.
4. Contemporary Romance
This series is hilarious. The heroines are hilarious and it great watching them make their bad boys run in circles around them. Don't worry there is plenty of suspense to keep you guessing.
5. Historical Romance
The Wallflowers are a group of girls who decide to ban together in the hopes that with a little help all of they can all find a husband. These women may be wallflowers but they have the determination to catch some of the most sought out men of the ton. Light easy read that will keep you captivated to the end.
6. Hunk'a'Hunk of Burning Love
Hot! Hot! Hot! This book is on Fire and you will need water close by to cool off. The story line was great with plenty of sugar and spice. We get to take a look backstage at the rock and roll band The Sinners. This story is about Brian Sinclair and his muse Myrna Evans. These two look like night and day but when the lights go out the music they make is extraordinary.
7. Mystery / Thriller
If you do like intense mystery thriller's for the Beach than I suggest this book. It had plenty of twist and turns and an ending I never saw coming. This book is about a brother who is trying to find the reason and person behind his brother's murder. He knows that his brother death was not an accident and is willing to use his law degree to and anything or anyone he has to in order for justice to be served.
8. Paranormal Romance
The Undead series is fluffy and funny. I have enjoyed it. If you are looking for a fast/easy read about Vampires with tons of comedy then this book is for you. Betsy Taylor dies in a car accident with chipped toe nail polish and pj's on. She wakes up to find that her stepmother has taken her expensive shoes and she is jobless. Watching Betsy fit into the world of the undead is quite funny but don't where he black knight, Sinclair, is there to save the day.
9. Pirates & Fantasy
Our hero is mix between Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings. I am series this man is a half elf and ex-pirate. Do I really need to describe anything else about the book. I mean who doesn't want an excuse to have that man running through your mind? lol It is a bitter sweet story about how love can conquer all and let me tell you love has a whole lot to conquer during this book.
10. Steampunk
This book has all kinds of awesome in it. Susan Dennard spins a tale about magic, hunters and zombies. The world is easy to understand and you will be sucked in from the beginning. Eleanor Fitt is out to find her brother while taking care of a dark spirit her mother allowed into the world of the living. She actually finds help from an unlikely group of misfits, The Spirit Hunters. This book will keep you guessing and provide many laughs throughout.

I love Undead Series and the Percy Jackson books! I have to check out Rock chick, it sounds like my kind of chick lit
